The lives they lead seem so simple and easy. The love they find stays.
I had the inside of my left forarm tattooed with a blue anatomically correct heart the other day. It reminds me of who I love. Who I've lost. What I have to gain and accomplish for them. It reminds me to say what I feel is right.
Its a contract and a promise.
But if I have to suffer to empathize I will. Pity seems a kind of inaction comprised of misunderstanding. If I walk down a path of broken glass and bandage my feet at the end maybe I'll know how to dress the wounds of those who followed me. A scar can be stronger than the flesh before it.
