I started weight bearing in physical therapy today. My ankle hurts like a bitch right now, but I think this a "step" in the right direction. Unfortunately I got drenched going to my previous PT appt. and now I have a ear, nose, and throat thing going on. I hate being cursed with my family's sorry excuse for a immune system.

I started physical therapy for my ankle on Thursday. I really hope that it helps move the healing process along. I injured two ligaments and tore one. Now Im told that I would have been better off breaking it. I have physical therapy scheduled for the next three weeks and then Ill be re-evaluated.

I've been at two weddings and the second one was also in North Carolina. When I first heard the reception was to be outdoors, during the summer, I wondered But what if it rains? During the ceremonywhich was on a pool decksure enough, it began raining. Then, during the reception, which was at the base of a slanted driveway, it heavily poured rain. I'm glad he wasn't hurt any worse than he was! Falls are treacherous. A friend of mine fell off the roof of a camper, onto a concrete floor, and was never the same after that. I can be stubborn about getting things done, so I understand. Fortunately, I've learned to think more about the consequences, and I'm sure I've avoided any number of accidents.

You know, no one ever goes to school to learn how to become a parent. You would think it would require training and a license. I'm saying that tongue-in-cheek . . . but lots of people don't have a clue. My parents were very strict, and my father beat the crap out of me (sometimes I deserved it - I was adventurous, free-spirited, anti-authority, etc.) but they also loved me, and provided a good family atmosphere and understanding. So in the end . . they did a reasonably good job. Too bad the bad things are a part of life.
