Ah, SG. I've come back here because some anonymous kind soul paid for three months of my membership. Who could it be and why, I'll never know, but I can only fantasize a nymphotic gothic succubus siren.

Okay, so I already made an entry which I thought would be my last. I can't leave in such a wimper.

Richard Dawkins needs to be elected president of the United States. We need to ammend the consitution right now to allow British Oxford professors who have made gigantic contributions to science and rational thought to lead this country. His two-part documentary series The Root...

I want to stop looking at porn. I have been regularly looking for half my life. I have almost exclusively stuck with softcore and lesbian stuff, and am repulsed by hardcore porn, so I think I've been mostly spared the effects of porn addiction, in terms of views of women. The only thing which I think has suffered over the years is my nutrition, sitting...

Two months until my subscription here expires. I'm still on the path of not renewing but I'm playing around with the idea.

Bought a 2003 Ford Mustang. It's fun. I used to be embarassed with what I was driving and would always apologize for its existence, not to mention treating the inside of it like a roaming office, stuffed with papers and...

Great. Fuck. Just when I am in the middle of writing a 15,000 word essay, my computer suffered a severe meltdown and is done forever. Dead. I had a backup copy on another computer, but the draft must have been a month old.

Due to a request for me to update my journal, the following are some excerpts from an essay I have been working on for the past few weeks. Currently the essay stands at 11,000 words and there's no end currently in sight. Enjoy! (Personal update at the end)

The sphere of religion in the explanation of the cosmos has steadily diminished over the centuries as...

Aww...I'm so happy to hear that things are getting better for you. I was home for spring break, and I've decided I'm moving back in a few months when I wrap up with school. Keep up with your THC doses, and things should continue to improve for ya wink

I just realized, right now, this very moment, of writing this, how my relatively soon and permanent departure from this site is a metaphor for life. I am set to expire on August 31, 2006, and yet despite that I am not making the most of what is left of my membership. It is not as if I write every day or make the most...

Whats going on the life of Deep Dish, lets count the way. (Trust me, this may be interesting)

This Friday, tomorrow, September 16th I am going to a place called The Peacock Room to hear a house DJ spin whose birthday it is and to meet up with a friend. The place is supposedly a fusion between gay bar and a place for stylishly-minded straight...

here ya go...

Friday, October 14th 2005 - 9pm-3am

Distrakted Entertainment proudly presents the debut Orlando performance of:

Paolo Mojo
- Music is Freedom, Orcmusic, -

Fresh off Sashas Fundacion NYC and World tour, Paolo continues to enhance his rapidly growing reputation. Radio One, Mixmag, DJ Magazine and IDJ have all been quick to cite him as one to watch. The last 18 months have seen a much justified rise in fame, and hes grown to become on the hottest dj properties around.

Paolo Mojo's sound might be difficult to pin down, but this broad, innovative approach to his craft is making him a name on everyone's lips in 2005. His style incorporates elements of house, funk, techno, breaks, electro, disco and acid. "I've never understood this 'genre' bollocks" he says. "To me the best DJs always select the best bits from a wide range of sounds and put them together in a way that just makes sense to people."

It's certainly making sense to lots of people at the moment. Already well established for his tweaked out sets with the likes of tyrant and Sasha at fabric, and a well thumbed global passport, he's really come to the fore this year thanks to a succession of well received productions on labels such as Alternative Route, Big Love and Sabotage. - and one of the best essential mix debuts ever.

Radio One, Mixmag, DJ Magazine and IDJ have all been quick to cite him as one to watch this year - with his first mix cd 'Heretic' set for an autumn release on Sabotage. Forthcoming remixes and projects with the likes of Brancaccio and Aisher, Alex Neri, Nic Fanciulli and Paul Woolford are set to raise his bar even higher.

He also runs Music Is Freedom and Orcmusic record labels, which have consistently attracted good reviews for the past 2 years. He contributes productions and remixes to both regularly, and sees them as the cornerstone of his music output.

Congrats to Paolo for landing Balance -009 . . . he will be mixing the ninth installation in the acclaimed AU series to be released in the US in March.
Past balance artists include: James Holden, Chris Fortier, Anthony Pappa, and Desyn Masiello to name a few.

Check out his latest mix here:

Setting the tone for the evening will be:

Villo
- Balance Record Pool, Protonradio, -

As one of the DJs behind the Balance Record Pool, and with over a decade and a half playing clubs, afterhours and beautiful outside locations, when Villo is at the wheels of steel you will be engulfed by his sound, and delighted by the energy this man projects. Check him out at: www.djvillo.com

Tim Skinner
- Bedrock, Grounded Music -

While Tim Skinner has been an established figure in Florida's dance scene since the early 90's, 2002 was the year he showed the rest of the world his true abilities by filling in for Jimmy Van M as he took on opening duties for the Delta Heavy - a 40-city tour across North America featuring Sasha & John Digweed.

Later that year, Tim toured with John Digweed on Moby's Area 2 Tour featuring David Bowie and again demonstrated his talent to fans in 14 cities throughout North America. Since then, Tims travels have regularly taken him beyond the borders to locales such as Central and South America where he has built quite a loyal following.

When not traveling, Tim can be found working diligently in the studio. He and Barry Robb (aka Sphere) founded Grounded Music, which features a number of his studio productions. Other production work and remixes from Tim can be found on leading record labels throughout the globe. Most recently, Tim partnered with Martin Accorsi to produce an EP released on John Digweeds Bedrock Records. To follow Tims continued presence in dance music, visit: www.djtimskinner.com
