When you were a kid, did you ever play "Slug Bug" and you would hit the person next to you in the arm every time you were the first one to spot a Volkswagen Beetle bug?
A new ad campaign on TV from Volkswagen tries to revive the tradition, but to add to the stupidity of the campaign theme, they are trying to apply it to the spotting of any Volkswagen model. Not just the beetle. I hate when companies promote or accept Ad Agency campaigns that underestimate the intelligence of the viewers or our ability to remember the circumstances of a past cultural element they are trying to revive. Both Volkswagen and whatever Ad Agency created it, deserve to fail with this stupid ad campaign.

I actually only saw that commercial last night, after reading your post; and would not have understood what that commercial was trying to suggest if I had not read the post first.

Couldn't agree more, the whole ad campaign is kinda redonkulous. The beetle is a bug so it makes sense to do the slug bug thing, but all the other cars are not so I say thee nay to this new campaign.
