That was only a little disturbing... I walk into the reptile room and one of my mother mice is eating one of her babys. What's worse, I seem to be down a few from the last time I checked.
I thought I smelled something dead when I walked past the cage last night. But they must have eaten every bit of the ones they had. There was nothing left. I wonder if that's what happened to the male. I can't find him. I thought he escaped... Uh oh.. Mebby I should take them out of the cage with the more mature litter.. I think I might need to start a new bunch of breeders entirely if these two have gone cannibal.... Mmm yet I still have an appetite for gummy bears...
So the baby's eyes weren't open yet and they're not done nursing so I have to kill them now. Or risk losing more. That's about $14 of mice right there. They probably ate another $14 worth.
I'm sure I sound like a monster to the lot of you. But I love my snakeys more than a bunch of stupid, baby eating mice.
Oh and the lizard has developed a taste for them too. But he can only handle the new borns.
Ugh.. This interupted the excitement of discovering I may have a simple way of casting more complex jewelery designs without having to buy another $100 or so worth of equipment.
Steam casting is the way to go! All I need is a sturdy metalflask that won't melt.
I tested melting silver on a piece of Plaster of Paris. It works beautifuly.. I'm scared it might crack a bit and leave a print on the jewelery. BUT! That can be smoothed off easily enough OR make a nice pattern in the metal. I might integrate it into a design.
Been thinking lots about my SB set the last couple days, and my amature zombie survival movie.
This Canman fellow really got me going. I need someone with his talents or else try shipping some corpses across the border.
Me sis will be back from film school in a week, I'm gonna get her help writing the script and screenplay. General movie making things.
As for my SB set, I really want to get my kevlar vest first. Now that I've found out an easier way of casting stuff I might be able to swing it... Though I might still have to buy some low melting point wax to do this casting stuff properly... I'll try it with candlewax. I just have to make sure I can melt it out of the mold completely.
OK! gonna go back up and check on the caniibals quickly... Good thing about discovering a half eaten alive mouse is I gave a couple good buddies who can kill em more efficiently than I can, with much less chance of splatter; Kaieda and... It would appear the name 'Snake Snake' has stuck for the python.

I am friends with two people who are able to hook me up with pro photographers, and I have a feeling it might be free.
