Ugh talk about a boring Saturday. I have to work in the morning so no partytime for Ms. Monroe.
BUT this week is my spring break so I'm sure there will be much of that to come.
Friday, I took my dad to a show at the 31st Street Pub. He really enjoyed the bands, particularly this awesome local band, The Legendary Hucklebucks. Uncle Scratch's Gospel Revival also played and they are fucking HYSTERICAL. It was a good time...the first time my dad and I have thrown back some brews together. I'm pretty sure he thinks I'm an alcoholic because the trashcan in my apartment is really small so I never put booze bottles in it because they take up too much room. I just set them on my countertop and thus never end up throwing them out...it looks worse than it is.
Anyway, I am really thankful that I have the family that I have. They are so much fun, so supportive, and have given up so much to make sure that my life is as good as it can be. It makes me feel bad sometimes!
I reallyreallyreally love this coat. Too bad it's $865.
That's not even a great picture of it. You can see it on the runway here. Of course you knew what label it was before you even clicked it.
I have a rant today. Here is my rant:
I'm not typically inclined to complain about things I like becoming popular. I tend to think that doing that is a bit childish. However, today I feel the need to do just that but I think my reason for doing so is more justified than most arguements in that vein. So here we go. I really am irritated by how trendy it has become to like Johnny Cash. It's not that a lot of people claim to like him that bothers me but rather that I really don't think these people are sincere in actually LIKING Cash. They just say they do because it's in fashion. I notice so many people that say they like him who would probably mock or simply turn off any other outlaw country. People saying "Oh I love Johnny Cash" but would turn their noses down at someone for listening to Hank Williams or Merle Haggard...pisses me off. And while I recognize that each has a different aesthetic, they all share some basic similarities. So I don't understand how people could label all classic country BUT Cash as stupid redneck stuff, and still like Cash. Retards. Kiss my country loving ass. End rant.
If you know what's good for you, you'll come to this:
on Friday. NicoleLee and I will be tending the bar!
Love,
Monroe
