Alright, I seriously do need your help this time.

I'm writing about SG for my final paper in my philosophy of art class. I need your perspective.

Here's what I want to know:
1.Do you think SG escapes the "male gaze" typically found in art and especially pornography? If so, why? If not, why?
(The male gaze is defined as a way of seeing where women function as erotic objects, with the male as the viewer and female the object of that gaze. "Male" also refers to male dominated--having a point of view stereotypically associated with men--not necessarily having male anatomy)

2. Is SG pornography, or art? Why or why not?

Give me examples, share stories!

This is a class on aesthetics so keep that in mind. Think about intent of the artist, etc.

1. Yes and no. My take is that t depends on the level of maturity of those who join the site, and whether they are are interested in the community aspect.

2. Whether it is classed as pornography depends on whether the appraiser approves or disapproves. If 'pornography' is the depiction of explicit poses and acts then certainly not.
