I went to the deer park temple yesterday. Lhundup Sherab took us to the Stupa, which I circumambulated, took us into the temple. I saw the throne the Dalai Lama sat on when he came to America. I saw the shrine. Nice shrine, xmas lights all over it. We talked about learning sanskrit, talked about the diamond cutter sutra.
It was just me, Jake, and Lhundup Sherab, there in the temple. The things I most noticed where the electrical cords running to the lights, and the altoids tin next to the shrine.
Jake left this morning for Boston. Maybe I'll go live out there with him and Lauren for a while.
Lauren is my sisters name.
Hung out with Kamran all last night and today. He leaves for St. Louis tomarrow morning.
I love him and all, he's like a brother, but I'm almost glad he's leaving. If I have to listen to 5 more minutes of fundamentalism of ANY kind, I'm going to freak the fuck out.
But he means well, and he's not drinking anymore, which is more than I can say about most of my friends.
Apparently, I broke his entire concentration when he first saw me, because he couldn't help but want to tell me what a horrible person I am, and it took all his 'training' not too. He did anyway.
I have no compassion for other living things, I'm an inveterate liar, I have no trust in anyone, I get grumpy, my moods change too quickly.
Of course, today was much more pleasent. I bought us all food for 5$, just some rice noodles, bamboo shutes, bean sprouts. Nothing fancy. And no meat, to boot!
God I love naked Goth girls. You chicks get my up like the eiffel tower. THANK YOU SUICIDE GIRLS. I think my favorite, honestly, is Missy. I love that picture of her on her profile, it's amazing.
So I'm trying to learn sanskrit.
I keep getting distracted by my issue of Crank, signed by the man himself, Jeffrey Koyen. Jeffery is my middle name.
I gotta go to Prauge. Not just because of the velvet revolution and all that, but it's my heritage.
My last name is Moriva, for god's sake.
Used to be Morava. They changed it. Bastards. I'm gonna have to change it back.
Gotta go to Prauge. Gotta learn sanskrit. Gotta eat yoghurt and get up in the morning as early as possible to meditate. Gotta save money.
Chop wood. Carry water. The banality just keep staggering on, a great impersonal slave chain.
