I'm gratuitously mentioning that I have read Mike Doughty's Book of Drugs. Tangentially, I enjoy the drug of books.
stiles:

Burning man is different every year. It is what you make of it. If you're in the mood for adventure and a good time, you'll probably have one even if the conditions suck. If you're not, you won't. It helps to be very flexible and open minded as nothing will go exactly to plan, people get lost in their own adventures and there isn't remotely enough time to see half of it.

It's worth looking over the guidebook and the art map, formulating a rough plan to see what you're interested in and then totally disregarding it when something more interesting happens.

Dear journalists covering the Pennsylvania Pedophile,

Victims are NOT "alleged victims." Victims are victims. It's the criminal defendant who is the "alleged" criminal. Why can't they get that straight?

Being a criminal is a legal term of art. Being a victim of violence is not. By way of example: If a murderer dies before trial - and is therefore never found guilty - is there...

I am a fan of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. But God laughs at you when you take Pastafarianism too seriously. So says the smug agnostic. Cause you can't prove a negative, right?

Which one or are both grammatically correct:

1) He was twittering yesterday.
2) He was tweeting yesterday.

Or, do they mean different things? Alas. I need a life.

Twitteringcould mean following others. Tweeting is only posting?

eroticgeek:

I hope you do not mind a random friend request, but I absolutely loved your profile picture. As far as your blog is concerned, I think the answer to that question is quite simple. At least to my knowledge, when you are posting on Twitter, you are in fact, "tweeting." I think the term "twittering" could also be used as a verb to represent posting on the site. Although, I do not think it is used as much. Also, I agree with someone else who commented on this issue. "Twittering" could represent the act of following another member on the site. It sounds a lot fancier in my opinion than following. Try looking it up in urban dictionary or something. There may be an actual answer to this without the uncertainty. I hope you have a great weekend. When you get this figured out, feel free to include me in on the correct way to use the terms. I am a stickler for grammar. biggrin

Motorcycling Canadians - I need some traveling advice. I hope to go to Radisson, QC this summer on a 1995 CB 1000 F. I'm leaving from Minnesota.

From what I've read online, the road up to Radisson is pretty desolate. can go about 250 km on a tank of gas, but it looks like its much further between gas stations. If I need to...

How does one start a blog? I guess by blogging about blogging. Specifically, who the fuck cares about reading some random dude's blog on a site dedicated to looking at pretty, naked women (and, pretty naked women) and nerdly pursuits? Please.

Perhaps Mike Doughty has it right; keep it short and simple. Perhaps a sentence, perhaps a paragraph. Just enough to scratch the surface...
