Since most people are partying their asses off in Thailand and other exotic places right now, the few of us still around are going to have a little New Years party tonight. I was a bitch finding a place to go since this is Japan: NYE in Japan is a quiet affair at home watching TV; cabins and camps are closed because it's a solemn holiday, so they don't want to be open; none of us own a house or know anyone who does who would be down to host a party; and our apartments are out because of the noise. We are going to have it at an apartment though with 7 people and try to keep it down. We'll have a good time. Besides eating and drinking and gaming, we're going to the temple around midnight to hear the bell. At Buddhist temples they ring a bell 108 times around midnight to banish the 108 sins of mankind in those listening (more religious info on 108). Anyway, Happy New Year!!
