It was a warm summers day as I walked to the train from school. I was walking to the Green Line stop of Adams and Wabash. I was ready to go home and relax the rest of the day when all of a sudden a homless guy jumped out from under the stairs that exit the Green Line. He was the craziest homeless guy I ever saw! He was balding but the sides of his hair were long and greasy. He had a patchy beard and what appeared to be three teeth. Think Nick Nolte's mug shot only creepier. He pointed to a styrofoam cup and started yelling incoherently. It was more like barking. My instincts told me to throw him my wallet and run like hell. I just turned around and walked into Tower Records, pretending that those were my intentions all along. As I looked through the DVD's I realized that I was confronted by a common day troll, and began to laugh to myself. I looked through the DVD's and decided to leave. When I got out I he was gone, I never saw the Green Line Troll since then.
A classmate and myself were both waiting for the Blue Line. A group of us spent the day together but we all split paths and it was just the two of us. It was later in the day and the trains were very full. When the train approached, the cars were moderately full, full, moderately full, empty, moderately full. I ran to the car that was competely empty as I was stepping in I hear my classmate Kelly say "Matt don't go in there, he probably stinks." As I hear this I look over to see a homeless guy hunched over the seat. and then it hits me like a sledge hammer. THE WORST SMELL I EVER SMELLED IN MY WHOLE GODAMN LIFE!!! It was like rotting elephants. In one motion, I turned around and directly walked into the other car. Kelly thought it was funny, but I couldn't get that smell out of my noise. As the train ride continued passengers were constanly coming through the emergency exit with the most disgust looks on their faces. When we got off the train I could smell him from outside of the damn train. To this day I still haven't smelled anything that comes close to that guy.
I was walking to my car from my girlfriend's house so that I could move my car before I got a ticket. I parked on belmont, a half block away from the bottom lounge. On the wat to my car, I stopped at that Dunkin Doughnuts on belmont and Clark for breakfast (it was 8 am). I bought half a dozen bagels and left. As I was walking I saw a homeless guy coming towards me. He was creepier than your average Chicago homeless person but there was something else. I noticed there was a cloud of smoke behind him. As we got closer I realized that the smoke was coming from the homeless guy, more specifically his pants. This guys pants were on fire!!! The second I noticed this I turned to him and I was going to say "YOUR FUCKING PANTS ARE ON FIRE!!!" but I didn't, I didn't say anything to him. I just let him walk by and around the corner. I carried the fact that I didn't do anything to help this guy with me for a while untill I saw him again in the same area. I still feel pretty guilty though.
