Soundtrack: work in progress
Mood: energized
Starting a new music project! This is always an exciting thing...very electronic, which is weird for me. Also very Not Aggro, which is weird for me.
Sara's got a great voice and I think the grooves are coming along well. Certainly I haven't had a flurry of songwriting like this in a number of months.

The new one, however, seemed a great deal more musical. Of course, this is a very subjective judgment. For instance, I have a substantial preference of the original POD Pro over the xt version. I just think it sounds more like the amps in question, and more musical. Your mileage, as I'm sure I stated elsewhere, may vary.
I noticed that I wasn't just playing some stock chops to get a feel for it - I was actually writing with it. The sounds were versatile and inspiring. It did a great job of of distorted bass and a very good job of overdriven bass (I'm really fussy about my overdrive sounds). I like the re-amping features that I think are new to the xt line, and I absolutely adored the bass synth emulation. I don't remember if that was present in the original series, but if it did, it certainly didn't stick with my from my original playtest. The xt had me dropping sick monophonic basslines with as much glee as if i'd stumbled across an old Moog.
Basically, the sounds and feel were present in full force with the xt, and I didn't find that to be the case with the original. I would really encourage anybody who was curious to sit down for an hour and check it out, and I'd be particularly interested in your reactions, given that you've got an original model to really compare it to.
Cheers!
