Hello!
The homework this week is what is your best advice. This is hard because I have a lot of advice. hahaha Anyone who knows me knows I am a little bossy and a tad judgmental so giving advice on life is one of my fave things to do :) I like to think that my advice is carefully gleaned from hard earned lessons that are given with helpful intent, not because I am a busy body who has everyone else life figured out :)
Here are my current top 3:
1. When you make a mistake admit it right away, Say you're sorry and learn the lesson the first time. Don't be afraid to apologize. Making excuses should never be your first response. Owning your actions is a sign of maturity and what the real world expects of you. Everyone fucks up, a lot, like, a lot a lot. Admit it, learn from it and move on with your life. Life is too short and moves too fast to waste time trying to talk your way out of blame for a mistake and repeating it, over and over again.
2. Don't let someone else's insecurities bring you down. At some point in your life you will encounter haters, whether they are current or former friends, coworkers, family members or some rando on the internet who gets a bee in their bonnet about you and become hell bent on taking you down. Don't let their effort to undermine your success undermine your confidence. Unless it is someone you truly care about and value their opinion of you, let it go. At the end of the day your actions speak for themselves and if you play into needless drama with someone trying to get a rise out of you then you are doing the damage to your own character, and they win.
3. Dream big and don't be afraid to fail. You can't succeed big unless you try. If you fail, at least you gave it a shot and the story of how you once tried to do this cool thing make you sound way cooler than the stories of how you had an idea once but there was no way you could do it so you did nothing. The story of how you tried this awesome thing and it worked are still the best though, it would suck to not be able to tell them because you never tried :)
