I just started watching the coverage of the earthquake in Japan. I have a friend stationed there and I'm giving anything to hear that Jarhead say he's okay.
My friends in Maui are being evacuated to higher ground and I'm scared shit less. Short of 9/11 I've never watched the news and gotten physically ill from watching the footage.
At 0430 I heard from Chris (The Jarhead) via his girlfriend and shortly after I heard from him. Now I sit here on the mainland and wait and watch what happens to Hawaii if anything. My friend Sarah left the islands last night for a trip to Mexico but her boyfriend Brendan is at their house in Wailuku. I've been on facebook most of the night with him until they start the evacuations and then after that I'm glued to my cellphone.

I don't watch the news either and I did not go looking for footage last night, only reports of what happened. I just booted someone from FB and here because of certain stupidities he was posting. It turned my stomach knowing that while most of my friends were freaking out over loved ones in affected areas, he decides to joke about it. Call me harsh but I'm a little more sensitive in these matters than most people think.
