Today I researched propane systems for the RV. I took some pictures of what it came with, and tomorrow I'm going to test the lines, and appliances to see if they work... I need a spray bottle, and some soap to do that.
I still need, at least one horizontal propane tank, and two would be best. That's going to run me four hundred dollars easy. The tanks are about 200 a piece, and I'd like to get them new if at all possible.
This is the regulator that came with the RV. I think that it works... It has a T shaped valve on the other side that leads to the two connection points for the two tanks. Looks like this...
I'm not sure this is up to code. I haven't ever dealt with propane before. Tomorrow I'm going to hook it up to the tanks I have, which will take some fenagaling, because they need to sit upright, and the space they would normally sit assumes you have horizontal tanks... (which I don't...) just to see if the lines have any leaks, and to see if the appliances all work.. AND to see if I can warm it up enough to melt any ice in the ceiling so all the water will drain out, now that I've got a temporary fix on the leak in the roof.
I've been researching this all day, because I want to start moving my stuff in. I've only got nine days before I am supposed to be moved out, and I can't heat my RV... This is a rough start to my adventure.
I reapplied for the job I had before I moved to Bremerton. The job that I had to quit in order to move to Bremerton, to take the job, that laid me off... (as far as I can tell, that's the least bitter sounding description of my last year and a half that I've EVER put down in writing...) I'm pretty confident I will get the job, since they all but asked me if I needed some work, but it is going to suck having to commute again. Especially since my poor car needs about $500 worth of work to make it safe for that kind of commuting... Not to mention that I have no second gear, and will eventually need to replace the transmission, or the car.
Like I said, starting over is rough, but I think I'm getting it together. The first few months here might be hard to deal with, but I think things are starting to come together again, and while I'm anxious as hell about the future, I step into it knowing that my decisions are relatively sound, and that my margin for success is totally based on how hard I try, and how much I pay attention to the lessons life is sending.
