She never saw it coming
Never felt the bloody knife a nearing.
Heard the muffled cry,
Heard her moan and die,
Never once wondering why.

I heard they locked her up
Denying her the goodies of what she took.
She broke all hopes of ever getting out
And lied through teeth that gripped onto the night.

She tasted like death
Taking everything I ever loved.
I tasted remourse on her breath
And saw fear in her eyes.

I couldn't have what she couldn't give.
I never gave her a chance to explain.
And I could never see
The she I could always feel was me.


I wrote this when I was in the hospital recently.
