I don't think anyone in their right mind is pro-war., but in my opinion there are some things that are worth fighting for. Is this one of them, that remains to be seen. I sit with great anticapation for the day that this regime is overthrown to gauge to reaction of the Iraqi citizens. Is this something they wanted? Is this going to make for a peaceful nation, and more stability in the region? One can only hope.
There is something that really troubles me though. Why do so many peace protesters end up getting arrested? Why aren't they satified with marching peacefully and not starting issues with the police? I think it s irresponible behavior on the part of some to cause this chaos. First of all the police are certainly overworked and strained to their limits by now. With all the anti terrorist hoopla they are being forced to endure they are working their asses off to protect us. They guard our bridges, tunnels, and ports. Our lifestyles and livelyhoods and this is how we repay them? Secondly the anti war demonstrators need to understand and respect that there are families that are willing to march side by side with them. They don't want to be gassed. I know it's a select few who decide to engage in this despicable behavior, but they should reconsider the consequences of their actions.

dude, i think it's interesting that the civil disobeidence didn't start until the bombing did. people were polite and marched and held their signs and were completely ignored.

millions of people all over the world.

typically, the white house tries to marginalize the protesters. but this time, they accepted the validity and just plain stated their position was to ignore them.

i'm not a big fan of the anti-war movement right now but there are reasons that are legitimate for getting arrested.

tacticly, arrest and civil disobedience has been a brilliant tool. unfortunately, i think of kids today don't understand it and it gets misused.

but do you think it makes more sense for people who have marched peacefully and been comletely ignored to continue with the same tactics now that people are dying?
