I'm between two places right now, and I can't decide which way to go. I want to just be pulled in one direction or the other. Not have to make the choice myself. Give me reason to stay in this house, or force me to move on.
It's going to be hard to leave NYC behind and move to Philadelphia. NYC is one of the most important centers for fashion, theater, music, nightlife, culture. It's made me well rounded, street wise, and hungry for life. I love the pace, the excitement of living here. Going on dates in one of the most romantic cities in the world.
But this city can break you too. It has a way of giving you hope that you can accomplish any dream that you set your sights on, and letting you down. It's a city that confirms the phrase, "It's not what you know, it's who you know." NYC is unforgiving.
As much as I go and visit Philadelphia I still don't know enough about it to make up my mind. It seems like a smaller, close knit city, where meeting new people and making friends won't be that difficult. It feels warm and inviting. But I fear the unknown more than anyone I know. I find it difficult to take huge steps like this.
Yeah, I know NYC is still only an hour away, but that's not the point. It's hard to let go of everything you've known your whole life.

We looked like giants in the back of my grey sub compact.
Fumbling to make contact, as the others slept inside.
