minimalism

Checked out a great show last week and meant to write about it sooner, but I've been kind of lazy. It was a double headliner featuring Death Cab For Cutie and Franz Ferdinand. I really like them both, but if I had to choose a favorite from just their recordings I'd go with DCFC. However, live they couldn't even come close to touching FF. What an incredible performance. The energy, the prowess, they simply took the stage over. I had seen DCFC on their own tour previously and while they incredibly strong live they just were no match. They shouldn't have even considered touring with them. They are two seperate worlds apart.

I have plans for some other upcoming shows in the near future. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs are on tour and Depeche Mode with She Wants Revenge opening for them. Both should be very exciting. I just picked up the SWR album and am really getting into them. I don't know why I put it off so long considering I dug them the first time I heard them a while back.
