Today I wondered:
is it wrong to love someone if you love them with a divided heart?
Would you want to be loved by someone who could not love you and you alone?

Hopefully, you'll get to a point where you realize that you can only control yourself, and not other people. And also learn to accept only what people are willing to give.
Finally: look at the cold hard fact that the kind of love you're lamenting typically does not last. Yet, we walk into these relationships and promise 'forever' but forever lasts 6 months. The next forever lasts 2 years, then the next forever is an on-again-off-again for 12 months. Sprinkled in between are periods of bitterness & cynicism.
It was people in their 40s & 50s who hipped me to the fact that they had their minds on bigger things than chasing unicorns.
Life is to too short, and potentially too rich to waste on something so ephemeral & capricious.
