I had my guys work late today. It's just past 10 PM, and I think I inflicted an appropriate amount of suckficity and sense of accomplishment upon my team. Maybe now they'll do what I tell them to do, when I tell them to do it.

So I dropped 40 bucks on a couple of pizzas and some soda, spent 15 minutes explaining to them why they were working late.... "I told you guys to MAKE SURE that you were updating your work logs, and the tracking files so that I wouldn't have bad information at the end of the day. You didn't do it. Tonight we will make sure that it doesn't happen again."

My guys came through for me in spades, man. I just had to write this blurb because I'm really proud of them. They understood that we were working to correct problems they had created for themselves, and that they should have listened. They took their taskings, and as a team they accomplished all their goals, and by the end of the night they walked out feeling like they got a lot done, and laughing. I feel like a leader... I feel like my soldiers respect me because they care about what I think of them, as opposed to fearing me. I also feel like I won't have to do anything like this again for a long time. I feel good.
