Yeah, I miss my girlfriend dreadfully.

Yeah, I know that it was the right move to break it off with her.

All I can remember is her sweetness but I know that her troubled, mean side wasn't just gonna blow away in the wind.

I suppose it gives you a bit of songwriting fodder, at least. I find a lot of times, my ex's are much better as friends.

That sucks man. At least you knew for sure it was best for you. Time makes things so much better.

I'm back in New York. Playing Radio City on Sunday. Weird, right?

Back in Brooklyn from recording in Minneapolis. Songs sound fantastic!

I think I'm done, but I'm hoping the record company will agree.

I was going to Burma in December.

But instead I'm going to Berlin.

Seriously.

Deutschland in winter. Awwwww yeah.

Viel Spa!

Berlin is magnificent. There is Cubix (or perhaps Kubicks)..you get the idea... in Berlin. I highly suggest you take a look. Its an amazing bar constructed of blocks that glow green. Its basically an amazing excuse to see the outragous "fashion" and the exact location where the term "hipster" originated (as far as I'm concerned). What are you going for?

Muah! smile

Reading like a beast lately: Chekhov, Thomas Mann, my secret Japanese boyfriend Haruki Murakami, John Strausbraugh, G.G. Marquez, poems of J. Gilbert, E. Dickinson, Jon Krakauer's tales of Mormons amok, Joan Didion--really crazed. Maybe it's the songwriting. I need to keep this binge going.

I am looking for a new pet name for my girlfriend.

Cute and quasi-ridiculous.

Suggestions please.

i like food nicknames. mostly because i like food. one of my favorites is cuppycake. that's what i call cupcakes (which in and of itself is cute and quasi-ridiculous) so i think it also makes a good nickname.

also: i just bought tickets for your show in sf on the 15th. that makes me a happy camper like this: biggrin

cheers.
synnove:
according to juliana's post... i would go with either:

1 - sizzlin' kneecaps
2 - spicy bum
3 - crunchy clamster (my personal favorite)

Rilke, Rilke, Rilke.

If only my German was good enough to circumvent the translator.

I feel the same way about Neruda and Spanish. I always find little ways the translator screwed up, and it makes me feel good that I glean that much more from the text than someone who knows no Spanish at all.

I saw a YouTube of Nickleback covering a song of mine:

I am not sure how I feel about this.
