my monitor arrived - there is rejoicing.

I'm baking brownies and heading up to the city tomorrow in the afternoon I imagine. I'm looking for an apartment, and I found two within $100 of each other but with different pros and cons...

What's better: more rent, awesome view (buena vista heights), gorgeous apartment, garage, close to friends... but with people who are older, forced to sign a 1yr lease and my dog is on a trial basis...

OR

less rent, larger bedroom, still a pretty nice view (russian hill), close to cafes and stuff, but no living room, no parking, far from friends (but I can always make more local friends!) and my doggy is not likely to come with me.... although it is still a possibility. And the major pro is the roommate and I hit it off and he's totally awesome and I'd love to live with him.

Well always keep the doggy, though awesome roommates are hard to find.

I say give numero uno a try, but what do I know.

It's really hard to turn down parking in SF. That is huger than huge. Still, it's important to like who you live with. If you choose the doggy on a trial basis just make sure that getting rid of the dog gives you an out for your lease. It would suck to be forced to continue living somewhere that your dog is not welcome. Was that any help? Probably not. Sorry. Good luck.
