This whole giant earthquake thing is really sad. I am going to unleash my inner geek, but hearing the death toll, it makes me think of that part in Star Wars when the death star destroys the planet and there is a disturbance in the force a million voices all crying out at once and then silent. Ok, I know I butchered that up quite a bit, but you know what I am talking about.
I watched the footage linked on the boards, and it is crazy how these people were just playing in the surf. They didnt get that it was just going to keep rising and rising and rising. It wasnt like a giant wave you could see. I guess it was a giant wave, but just like the moon looks huge on the horizon even though it never changes size or distance from the Earth because of the proportions, the people really didnt recognize what was about to hit them. Because the wave took up the entire horizon, they couldnt see how huge it was. The one watching the old couple get washed away was pretty intense.
I think a shift like that could cause a quake someplace else in the world. That was a massive movement. I think California may have another one again. All of the volcanic activity up north, and this. The Earth is being rather unruly as of late. I have been in several earthquakes and I think if you are not someplace where a giant fucking wave will get you or where a ton of shit will fall on you and kill you, they are kind of neat. It feels kind of like standing on a giant waterbed. The only thing I wonder about now is that thing under Yellow Stone.
I watched George Ws press conference about the disaster too. MY GOD THAT GUY IS A MORON!!
Ok, Im done.

It's comletely horrible that so many people have met their ends, through no means of their own. It seems as though the world is protesting US. What really gets me about it all is the media feeding frenzy that ensues. I flipped through the channels on the TV today whilst eating breakfast. Some morning show was talking about this little boy who survived by holding on to this pillar in a building while his mother was swept away. They didn't even seem to care about his mother.
