Wow, it is amazing how this election has stirred people, I have not seen this kind of political motivation before in my lifetime. Not to say I havent seen people politically motivated in the past, but this is stronger, and more people seem involved. Maybe it is just my perception too. It is amazing what you see when you are looking for it.
I have a family friend, he was my dads best friend since college, and both men are now in their late 70s and early 80s. My own father has Alzheimers disease so I have no idea how he would feel about this present state of affairs. I know my mom and I clash over it quite a bit too. Anyway, this friend and I differ politically a lot. He sends me things all the time, and yesterday he sent me this email :
To: Lou Dobbs Tonight on CNN
Dear Lou:
The United States needs a CEO with experience and proven management abilities.
Kerry has revealed no management background.
Why would anyone want a totally green 60 year old trainee in management as President?
Bush now has almost 10 years in governmental management including his time as Governor of Texas
and now as President of the United States. He has proven his ability to handle emergencies and to
stick with policies he has formulated.
CR
I read his email, and I had no reply, I couldnt even fathom where he was coming from. My dad and this man worked on top secret government programs in the 50s and 60s together. They are both engineers and both have made huge contributions to science and technology. Things still in use today, and the footwork science behind many of our military and space craft was engineered by these to men. They are not stupid, and they are men who dedicated their lives to innovation and thinking outside the box. Yet here is this friend sending me this, which seems to blatantly ignore all of the horrific business failings and scandals Bush was involved in. It also ignores John Kerrys 20 years in the senate, work in the police force, and as a leader against the Vietnam war fiasco. John Kerry has a lifetime of successful leadership in my opinion. Yet, in this friends eyes Kerry is a green nobody. As I say, amazing what you see when you are looking for it. I suppose we are all guilty of this too.
This Eminem Video was interesting. Anyone who knows me, knows I have very little interest in rap music, because in general the subject matter says nothing to me about my life so I dont really get into it. Lately eninem has been getting rather political, you can see his age showing. A couple of weeks ago he got press for making a video that poked a little at Michael Jackson too, though I thought that one kind of sucked, the music was really awful in my opinion.
