Well, busy week, catching up on homework and installing track lighting and a dimmer in my bedroom.
I went to Skinny Puppy and have to say it was one of the most disappointing evenings I have had in a long long time. I left early. I guess I was a little pissed already when I got there because of traffic and the idiocy of the Arizona Department of Transportation. I can't believe they just shut down entire freeways every single weekend. From Friday night until Monday Morning, the entire North Bound lane of the 51 will just be shut down. Or the entire ramp from the 51 to the 202 was just shut down, so I got dumped onto the I-10 and had to drive around the airport and through Tempe to get to the venue. All of this and no gas stations open so I was totally below empty.
I get to the venue and they charge me $5 for parking. The attendant tells me to drive to the end and go left for parking. Left takes you down to the water, around a bend, under a bridge and finally to the overflow parking on the back 40 which meant I had to walk about half a mile.
So I hiked in tall tall boots to the venue and told the parking people it took serious balls to charge $5 to park way the fuck over there. As far as I was concerned they owed me $5 for the inconvenience.
My date was already there waiting for me, but had pissed me off by going there without me because I refused to be there at 6:00 futzing around for 3 hours since the band didn't go until 9:00.
The opening band was awful. I tried to get close enough to see what he had on his head, (I think it might have been a giant tomato or crown or something) but he sounded really bad and I had a headache as it was so I stayed far away.
As Skinny Puppy was about to start I got right up front and met a nice girl from Las Vegas. Then the band came on. I had the headache because I still am sinusy from being sick. My ears are all full of fluid and I get vertigo once in a while. The base sound they played vibrated the fluid and every time they made the sound, I got totally disoriented and felt like I was falling in 4 directions at once. I clutched my date and had him drag me out of the hall and explained what was happening to him. It was so weird, so we tried standing in the back far away from the speakers. No luck, still the vibrating of the fluid making me loose my balance, I was able to keep my bearings by using my eyes to compensate for the odd vertigo. Then they started the multiple strobes. It was all over, I got so dizzy I became nauseous and just about fell over except I had a date to literally catch me.
I apologized to my date and decided I like Skinny Puppy, but not enough to fuck with that show any more. So that was that MUCHO disappointing.

On the up side, my room looks amazing with the new lighting and the dimmer creates this amazing yellow glow. I love halogen track lighting. It is so crisp and directional and beautiful. I also finished my closet organizer so now I have a place for all of my shoes!! Im painting the gun cabinet to match the rest of the furniture in the room and tucking it in a corner. Then all I need to do is sew a few more pillows for the bed, finish the window treatment and get my Louis Royo prints framed and hung now that they have a spotlighted area to be properly displayed. I hope to have the room ready to show off by this weekend. Maybe Ill have a party in the next couple of weeks.

...and got any pics of the lighting? I've been contemplating adding some in front of my "library," and could use some inspiration on how else they could be used.
But, when are you going to put up pictures & how tos of your design ideas & pillows.
I am interested to see pictures of the gun rack when all is said and done.
