I hope you all enjoyed my new set Lightnings Desire, and to celebrate it being released I felt to write a blog as to why I chose that character and the ideas behind the set.
So as some of you may know I am an avid gamer and have been since a child and Final Fantasy was always a game I picked up to play if i just wanted to forget the world for a while. My mother bought me Final fantasy 6 as my first game and I was hooked from the beginning, final fantasys stories are so in depth and beautiful that it really is so easy to just lose time. When Final fantasy XIII came out i was so enthralled by Lightning as a person because she resonated so much with my own personality, she acts so strong and motherly but inside she is confused and soft hearted and has a deep connection/bond for those she meets along the way and I feel I am like that. I am always worrying about others and hoping everyone is ok that I often forgot myself and in Lightnings case her deepest worry was always with her sister Serah.
So how did i go about implementing my love for Lightning into an SG set?, this was a hard set to do BY FAR lol. I had bought her entire outfit and I had everything in my head as to what to do but my outfit arrived a mere few days before the UK shootfest was going to take place (thanks chinese post) and well it didnt fit... although I had measured myself and everything it did not fit and I was devastated. I had booked in @dollyd to shoot me because I love the way she edited images and felt it was nearer to Lightnings style. So here i was panicking because I had nothing to wear, and then I remembered that she went into the modern world to find Serah so i could technically get away with wearing whatever as long as i had her hair colour and makeup correct. So that made the set come together, I wanted some final fantasy esque edits implemented like the classic moogles and the spirit orbs we always see just to give the set a bit more oomph and feeling of being in the world of final fantasy. So I paid for a cosplay photographer who shoots at comic cons to help me with the idea and he did just that, now I only asked for it to be in certain frames because I didn't want the set to feel over edited if that makes sense so I only sent a couple of images in. He also put the final fantasy logo on the sword as well as some cool pink lightning in the headshot!.
I think the set has come out super well and I am proud of it, I think I've nailed her facial expressions because she doesnt really have any apart from her norm lol and made it powerful enough so I didn't fail her as a character. I'd love to do a lightning and Serah set one day...
