The life of a mere plus size model

Decided that this is an important subject that I need to discuss so here we go:

Side note: grammar may not be awesome and neither will spelling as my phone is stupid.

Ok so for me I started to model when I was around 12stone so in american measurements that is approx: 168lbs, the shoot was bought for me as a birthday present by my ex because he knew I wanted to model and I had quite bad depression, body issues. I enjoyed the shoot and was told I was a natural, however they had stated numerous times that I was 'plus size' now this term annoys me because curvy girls like me should not be put into any plus category, regardless of shape or size it should be about how the model works etc. Anyway I paid for a few images (the place was a rip off) and added them onto the modelling site Purpleport. After a couple of weeks I was shooting quite regularly, met some weirdos but the ones who were decent really helped me learn, once I was becoming comfortable I thought to myself that maybe I should try signing up to Suicidegirls, I had been following Rebecca Crow and other UK models for a while before I had even thought of signing up to the site and knew SG seemed like a good community. My first set Lady in red was my debut to suicide girls, looking back at it now I can see why it never did well haha but alas I have grown leaps and bounds since then. Since my first set i have been published in various magazines and have made many great friends in the modelling community, i do struggle with finding a lot of modelling work because of my size and because I dont look like the normal stereotypical model that everyone strives for so it is very hard. It's a constant battle of anxiety, depression, stress and determination, but I am learning to accept and learn through different situations, the term 'plus size' still irritate me but it's something that wont change anytime soon unfortunately. My ultimate goal is I want to prove to everyone that curvy girls can go far in this industry and that we break the mould of what society thinks everyone should look like, I want to become an official SG girl and raise the flag of empowerment and support for others in my shoes, I want to become published in store magazines, i simply want our size to be heard and accepted! There is nothing wrong with our shape, it simply means that we feel great and comfortable in our skins!.
