I haven't updated in a while but I'm not sure why. I've started both on the this site and in my head, but it never seems to come out and complete itself. Hmmm... well, here goes attempt #64:
Pets: My cat seems to be falling in love with me again. She falls in and out of love with me on a weekly/monthly basis and is completely stringent on how many times a day I feed her wet food, how many times I give her snacks, how long I let her play with her laser pointer, and how many times I squirt her with a spray bottle when she's being bad. So far this month, the pro's have been outweighing the cons and she's sleeping with me at night again. I have to admit, I love feeling the weight of her little body on my lap when I sleep and when I'm resting. It makes me feel oddly complacent.
Health: I had surgery on my leg the day after Thanksgiving. I had a hemangioma/hematoma/cyst/fatty growth (the doctors never really seemed to give me a straight answer as to exactly what it was) growing in my left leg above my knee cap. The "thing" always seemed to hurt at the most inopportune times and cause my leg to go completely numb. So I went under the knife and had it removed. The oddest part about it is that walking has been a lot more work with a wound in my leg so my doctor suggest I walk with a cane. Yup... a cane. I am officially an old man.
Family: Thanksgiving was... odd. We had two dinners (one with her parents and one with my family) and I noticed the enormous difference between our families. While at her parent's house we had polite conversation, kept everything civil, and didn't really "drink". At my family's dinner though, we were fairly crass to each other, drank like fish, and at one point were down right vulgar in our statements. It's odd when I think about it so I try not to.
Either way, my cousin was there. He was completely drunk and fairly depressing. Seeing him be a drunken mess was like looking in the mirror at myself circa 2001-2003. I wanted to ask someone if I was like that when I was a "drunk" (I've had a bit of a drinking problem before) but I think I've lost all or most of my friends from that time that could tell me. Guess that should be a clue.
Love life: Sara and I seem to be falling deeper in love everyday. I love the way she feels in my arms and she seems to love being in my arms. Her complete lack of "maintenance" of any kind is incredibly refreshing and is one of the main reasons why I love her. It feels good to be with someone that takes everything you say as exactly what you say. If that sounds weird to anyone, think about it... how many times do you have to explain what you said to someone because they took it a completely different way than you meant? Now take it away. Doesn't that just seem easier? Yup... that's what I got. Feels good to be with someone that is so in tune that they know what you mean and what you think. [/disgusting mushy-ness]
Household: We just bought a new vacuum. It's a Hoover WindTunnel 2 and is absolutely awesome. I don't knwo when I started getting excited about household cleaning products (except for the Swiffer Duster. That thing is fucking awesome.) but this thing is cool. It cleans like I've never seen before and is seriously easy to use. I wanted to get a Roomba but figured it would scare the life out of my cat so I chose her over the coolness of a robot vacuum. I'm glad I did now. This vacuum is fun and easy and she still loves me.
Vices: I have to stop watching surgeries on TV. Seriously... I really need to stop. I manage to get in around three or four a day and I think it's starting to get to me.
Okay... that wasn't so hard. =P
