i guess the truth is that i hate goodbyes more than anyone. instability and volatility characterize my life, so i suppose i cherish stability and steadfastness especially...more than another might...but what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
i'm very happy for this next step. i'm finally going to experience a metamorphosis. not a real one - i mean, i have experienced a change, but it has been the slow incremental kind that builds and shapes, not one that destroys. that would be interesting though, to examine whether there are parts of me that are no longer parts of me...
you know what i mean...anyway, when i am conferred my degree, i will not be a new person in my own eyes...only in the eyes of others. but it is a symbolic milestone in life, and i'm very happy to have come to it.
i'm even happier about what lies beyond. law school, wow. that's pretty scary, even for me. i've never been afraid of reading and writing assignments. essay exams have been my forte. but i hear this is a new bread of beast i'm about to tackle. we'll see...we'll see. i suppose all that's left to say are the words of wisdom imparted to us by the great kurt vonnegut, jr. himself...."poo-tee-tweet." and so it goes...
