Current fun things:

*Voting in the General Election by postal vote- less hassle!
*Wandering off via random train journeys (2 in the last 4 days)
*Tesco's new special offers on pizza
*Making an EGL dress out of old curtains- pics will surface when I complete it...

Whoo and indeed hoo on many accounts:

1. Guess who got their repaired computer back today? Yep, c'est moi. The bugger died ONE WEEK before dissertation project due date (fucken sod's law always gets ya in the end, grr...) and I ended up doing it on some two-bit library computer job. The Library's great for socialising but socialisin's not good for dissertation. Oh no.

2. Finished my dissertation project, and therefore my course- no more work! biggrin Then again, there's the palava of jobhuntin' to go now. Hmm...maybe I prefered the project after all surreal

3. Last week was a whirling dervish of going out and stuff. Got the drunkest I've ever got on Thursday at the Journalism Department piss-up (it kinda helps when your lecturers buy you Jack Daniels and Coke, heh heh wink ) and promptly threw up in Birmingham City Centre the day after. All the cars honked their horns at me as I heaved puke

4. After the vomiting had THE MOST DIVINE meal of my life at YO! Sushi - if you get the chance you must try their salmon teryaki. Trouble is you won't ever want to eat anything ever again. Particularly not corned beef sandwiches which I ate today frown

5. Guess who met the Manics again last month in Liverpool? Pics of me with Mr Wire in my pics folder. OH YES! biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin

6. More floor guitaring. So much floor guitar that I bruised both my knees and got a (good humoured) bollocking from the Student Union bouncers (the 1st in 18 months of floor guitar history - who's night staff are not doing their job properly? Heh heh.) And more than a few people learned that I was wearing sub-standard blue underwear surreal

Now to the jobhunting I guess. Applied to the Guardian Traineeship on Friday plus a couple of other jobs. Trouble is, I was off my face from the Thurday piss up. Even weirder was that one job has got back to me. Now to ask- anyone know if Northumberland (the job location) is any good? Advice please! Thanx. biggrin

Frankly it frightens the hell out of me knowing I won't be at uni much longer. I don't want to grow up and get a job. Then again, I don't think I'll ever grow up- it all seems very boring, ho hum. If I could get a fun job 'tho...aww, I dunno. frown

And one last thing to the UK peeps out there- you MUST vote on Thursday. Your vote may not count for shit in yr own mind but it means a hell of a lot when you consider it's one of the few ways you'll ever be able to exercise yr democratic rights in this country. Count yourself lucky your able to go to a polling booth and tick whatever box you like without fear of being shot at or thrown in jail.

And I for one would love to see the smug smile wiped off Blair's face on Thurday nite...

Laters surreal

rodan:
no - I WANT to see it on an IMAX screen - there was WAY to much stuff goin' on wink.

The space battle was like WWii and pirate battles smashed together with the capital ships lining up for broadsides (in the same plane no less!) while fighters flew around them dogfighting and buzzard droids (WTF??) flew around eating the fighers. I mean - haven't these people ever heard of missles? At least the capital ships had a big cannon (welll, one of them did) - but what was up with the shell casings? LOL. Oh well.

Vader's Noooooo didn't bother me particularly, nor the Wookies on vines doing tarzan (aside from - where were those vines attached? some flying cruiser or something? sheesh wink ) - I don't remember the audience laughing at Vader either when he did that - the theatre I saw it in was one people that "believe" go see things in so that might be part of it.

I think I'm going to go see it again at the local Muvico monster-mega-plex (24 screens of movie goodness - it's fun when they've got 24 screens but they're only showing 6 movies) just to get a different take on the audience and the projection system (I'm not that much a theatre bigot but - well, yeah, I guess I am smile ) - where I saw it had a 2nd generation print and state of the art sound tuned by trained people that care, while most theatres get 3rd+ generation prints and sound systems tuned by monkeys smile.

BTW, I never bothered to grow up - altho I did get a job (well, a bunch - like 1 every two years for the last 20 or so - with 1 5 year stop and 1 3 year stop - who needs vacation smile ). Growing up is overrated anyway smile.

and I'll second the voting thing - vote him out so you guys yank your support for Iraq, maybe Bush'll get the idea.

Not.

Sigh.

And thanks biggrin

hello darlin'
tis a shame you'll miss our party, spread the word though to any pals you think might like it.
I'll certainly play some moi Dix Mois & Malice Miser, not exactly the easiest listening for the un-initiated but it's my call ha ha ha!

PIMP magazine is very london-centric but should be out in indie record & clothes shops around the country. Issue 2 is out now & I should be in #3. If your local record shop doesn't have it point them towards the website and I'm sure they'll be able to order some in.

looking forward to seeing your recycled curtain dress. DIY is the only way to get the best clothes xxx
