Hey, MP's back from the dead...

...Although at the mo i feel cold enough to be dead. Something to do with bad heating in this house plus walking around in 2 degrees C dressed only in a nightie because a man wanted to deliver a washing machine to my house SIX HOURS EARLY! Grr. But I digress.Today I am enjoying the day off work by immersing myself in the delights of daytime TV, including This Morning's unprofessionalism, Jeremy Kyle telling a chav he's a disgrace on national TV and regional news that tells me nothing about anything unless I live in Birmingham. Which I don't.

What's the bestest most fab thing that I have done since July? I went to see the almighty James Dean Bradfield in Stoke last week. Stoke I tell you! Sure, he played V, which I attended, but last week he was awesome. And I got a bit like a girl of 14 because I was dead close to the stage and got to see his tattoo on his musclely arm which made him look all manly *drools). Which probably explains why I look all retarded in this pic of me and my mate Becky meeting him after the gig

Bloody hell he has a firm, but reassuring handshake. He even put up with my incessant babbling, which not many people do- what a star. And I'll see him plus the other Manic boys now next month because they're headlining XFM's Winter Wonderland Manchester show on December 8 and I have tickets. Yaaaaaaaaaaaay!!! smile x infinity+1

Asides from meeting Bradders I've been stupidly busy over the past 3 months with work, starting Japanese evening classes and watching the fucking surreal Adult Swim on Bravo. Work-wise Silly Season is over and gone, thank God. Councils have resumed, police are at work and media-savvy schools are holding lots of sports activities/ seasonal fundraisers smile I've also interviewed a nice 90-year-old inventor who I had to explain goth culture to, a lady who magentises her drinking water and I've been chased down a council estate side street in my car by a gang of youths wielding what looks like an old pruned Christmas tree eeek eeek

Speaking of which I'm now gearing up to write Christmas stories, which are always fun because I love all the commercial tack that the next two months bring. Come December 1 my car will again be bedecked in tinsel, angels and a bauble hanging from the front mirror, plus compilation tape complete with all my fave hits. God help me if I have to drive to an inquest, because then Daisy the Christmas TackMobile has to be sombered up in case I meet any relatives of the deceased- unless the deceased loved Christmas more than life itself, which has happened before surreal

Here's my top five Xmas songs, what's yours?
I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day - Wizzard
Merry Xmas Everybody - Slade
Gaudete - Steeleye Span
Merry Christmas (War is Over) - John Lennon and Yoko Ono
Christmas Time (Don't Let the Bells End)- The Darkness

Note that reluctantly I cannot add Frankie Goes To Hollywood's The Power of Love because, although lovely, I don't count it as an Xmas song despite the video. And unregretfully I won't add Stop the Cavalry because IT IS SHIT.

Have fun y'all, hope everyone's well.

Laters wink

MP eating meaty crisps and marvelling at the amount of Christmas adverts on the telly even though it's not even Bonfire Night yet.

thanks blush It must have been I guess. I made it free of charge for a member on here. I sent it to her for fitting (to attach the straps in the right place) along with an sae and 10 for postage and she never returned it for me to finish or the 10 so I was a bit miffed about it. I actually made it in August 2005 and worked with the pattern designer to augment it to accomodate the recipient's cleavage. A noob in the S'nB group was recommending free sexy patterns and included it so I was just showing them my effort.

I don't sell stuff (I knit for free and give it away)but the yarn would now cost about 15 I guess since it's end of range(Jaeger Celeste) though there are hundreds of ribbon yarns out there like Colinette do purdy ones too.. At the time it would have been 25 and I had to knit it twice after producing a unique item with one breast pointing North and the other South tongue (great for space aliens) so the whole episode cost me 60 tongue

At the moment I'm starting to knit this Corset Pullover and there is a Silk Corset which I have the pattern for too but have had no motivation to do yet.
