What’s up Beautiful Babes! I hope your day/night is going well, if not I hope it gets better. It’s officially football season, I’m hopeful for the Lions this year, they play tomorrow against the Jets who are the Jets so hopefully the Lions don’t screw up and win.

Wow what a great Friday for metal. First up is the new Pig Destroyer record Head Cage...

You know those times when listening to a pandora station and song comes on and your like oh man I got to know who this is and go to pull your phone off the shelf and drop it into the alfredo sauce. Well that band was Whores. Reminiscent of early Amphetamine Reptile Records stuff like Cows and Unsane. Whores. Play noise rock that is fuzzed...

Whoa! Boy this one was not a fun Saturday. Making a 60 pie order before the dinner rush for the owner and her friends which was bullshit.

And this was what I came into when I started my day. I’m glad the tomatos didn’t get crushed, seriously... fucking shamrock cabrones

When I was a young punk in the streets with my sister Maria who was every punk kids dream girl. The cute Latina girl who had pink hair and knew all the cool bands, who is also incredibly sweet and super smart. She would have a trail of drooling boys following her around. It was amusing how they would fight for her attention and she...

My dad(R.I.P.) and I used to watch Elvira religiously, instead of church it was Elvira and her collection of cheesy movies that were part of some quality father/son bonding time. We also used to play the scared stiff pinball machine at the arcade. I was better than my pops but it was Elvira so he didn’t care. I haven’t had the opportunity to go to...

@aflalimo I switched from the degree my dad wanted me to pursue which was computer science. To art history because it was the easy way out. I could party and still complete school. I worked at the Denver Art Museum until my alcholism cut that career short.
aflalimo:
@metalhornshigh Aww, dude, I'm sorry on many accounts to hear this. I always wanted to be a writer, but my parents vehemently disagreed with my talent and my choice. Writing was a hobby, not a calling or a career. So, I pursued a medical degree. I even got accepted to a rather nice medical school before I decided I needed to be honest with myself and choose happiness that would last, not happiness of the moment. I was not hooked on alcohol, but I was heavily addicted to painkillers throughout my degree pursuit. I don't know how I managed to get as far as I did. I'm just glad I'm alive because at the end of my pharmacological romance I damn near died a few times.

@dariianity it was in the mountains of Colorado in an area called Beaver Ridge. I lived off venison and wild berry’s had to get water from a stream. It was a great time growing weed and living in nature.

These next two were a double whammy of some seriously kickass metal. The opening band The Shrine. From Venice Beach, California, play punk inflected 70’s riff rock, think Black Flag playing Zeppelin tunes. They look like they are out of the 70’s and they fucking slayed.

The next band Uncle Acid and The Deadbeats is a proto-doom metal band from England. Singing about serial killers,

The dough has magical properties

A lasagna from the last batch I made

Poke bowl from across the street, the sauce could have been spicier.

That dough in the first pic could be a sculpture. It has artistic qualities to it somehow. Question: what is a poke bowl? And I'm being 100% serious. I have no idea what that is, but it looks interesting...
metalhornshigh:
Poke bowl is a Hawaiian salad with rice raw fish and veggies. It’s the rage in Denver currently. We occasionally trade pizzas for poke bowls. That’s usually the only time I ever eat one. They are not cheap.

This show is in my top ten of the best ones I’ve seen. This was my first time seeing Electric Wizard. This was their first tour of the states since 2000. So ten days before 4/20 at Summit Music Hall 2015. So I promised myself that I would keep my drinking to a minimum, and my homie Chris kept me in check. Having been kicked...
