Went to the barber for a haircut and a beard trim this morning. This is the first time I've ever grown a beard, and I'm rather fond of it. Some people say it makes me look old, but the ladies seem to like it.

I heard a story on NPR today about Bach's Cello Suites. I decided to listen to it when I got home and this happened.

The past few days have not been good. My boss informed me that my position is being eliminated, and I'll essentially have to take a demotion to stay with the company. I can't even tell you how much I needed this vacation. It was a great week away with my family. Tomorrow, we return back home which I guess is not such a bad thing. After all, I miss my pups (the three amigos).

Already halfway through vacation week here in Ocean City, MD. It's been mostly good so far. Waking up to sunrises like this morning is pretty great.

I've been body boarding in the ocean every day, but I'm taking the day off to nurse a little sunburn. This might be a good day to visit some local breweries. Already checked out Burley Oak in Berlin, MD

I've been off of SG for a year or so, and just renewed my membership. Glad to see some familiar faces and some new ones too. I'll leave you with this classic photo I found recently; my prom picture circa 1990. Striking a pose with my first car (1974 Super Beetle).

It's pouring down rain today at the beach. Not just a little rain, but sideways gusty wind type of rain. We had delicious pastries from a local bakery that were called "Ugly". Basically a big ball of dough with warm apples and cinnamon wrapped in, deep fried, and coated in icing. Amazing!

Enjoying a little vacation time in the OBX with the family. First time here, and it's quite nice. This picture is of the sunset last night, and I'm hoping we'll see more like it throughout the week. Tonight will be time for some surf fishing and a fire on the beach, followed by wine in the hot tub!

I want my tree to be this big! The tree looks great this year, but it's getting much bigger as it settles. I'm worried it's going to take over the living room by morning.

Work and life have a funny way of making you lose sight of what's important, or what makes us happy. I've gotten so wrapped up in the doldrums of life recently, and I felt like I lost touch with me. Something needed to change.
