Yesterday, after work, I decided to go mountain biking by myself. Usually, it's a good idea to ride with someone, but if you're alone, you should be a little more cautious. I was not. I guess you could say I was feeling it, but I was flying. Anyway, I was having the best ride, and then one hour in to it, I had a major spill. In the crash, my right thumb pushed all the way underneath my hand. After getting up, I grabbed my thumb, and pulled it out with a pop and a cry of pain. Luckily, there's a hospital within a couple miles of the trail, so I pedaled my ass out of the woods, loaded up the car, and headed to the ER. Two and a half hours later, I left with a temporary cast on my hand. blackeyed

Today, I'm feeling a lot of bumps and bruises I didn't know were there last night. Generally, I feel better though. At least I got in some good riding. Now, my only worry is when I be able to ride again. Hopefully soon!

UPDATE

I get to go to the orthopedic doctor today. Hopefully he won't give me any bad news, like, "You can't ride your bike for the rest of the summer." I'm not looking foreward to going, but at least I can get out of work for a couple of hours.

UPDATE

I hate doctors. Anyway, pretty good news. The thumb is going to be fine. No cast, no splint, but no biking for three weeks? I'll be riding this weekend, guaranteed. wink
