war war war...
still can't decide exactly what i think of it. i hate the double standard. i hate policing. but at the same time sometimes it seems necessary - saddam's a really bad guy, and does terrible things to people. 'd be good for that to stop. i've never been able to figure out if i'm really really liberal or really really conservative. somewhere either socialist and libertarian - but not between, because that's just fence-sitting. either way, i prefer to stick my head in the sand and pretend it's not happening. shut my eyes and be very quiet and maybe it'll all go away. and saddam wouldn't have to be removed from power, because he wouldn't exist in the first place. and neither would bush.
went to my parents' house to eat dinner tonight. it was almost tasty, but my dad decided to do a casserole experiment that didn't turn out quite right. didn't sleep quite enough; i'll sleep tonight and go to school ALL DAY tomorrow.
i love what light in the sky can do in different situations. moonlight on white clouds against blue sky.. sunlight from one side of the sky against heavy clouds - makes the world all high-contrast. eerie quiet light during a thunderstorm. rays of sun through smoke, like through water. bright bright.
so something interesting happened at the dentist today. i take minocycline, a low-grade dermatological antibiotic, and have for about five years. my dentist told me that it can discolor your teeth, but the dermatologist said that only happens to littler kids. this was a few years ago, so i went in again today, and my dentist was real pissed off at my doctor for not taking me off of the drugs. so he gave me a mirror and pulled up my upper lip. you know that area of bone up above your teeth, that you can almost see through your gums? well, that's really blue-grey on me. it looks dead or frostbitten or something. scary. so i'm going off of minocycline, but it's permanent discoloration. strange. at least you can't really see it on my teeth. odd how stuff like that happens.
i wish that peridot made good jewelry. it's too soft to be on a ring or anything that comes into contact with stuff often, unfortunately. it's bright yellow green, like very new leaves.
time for bed.
goodnight.
