Welcome to SG. Youa re right, there seems like there is little get togetheres, but you would be surprised. There can be quite a bit. Ohio from what I have seen has a lrge amount of get togethers. Try looking for an SG Colorodo group or start one. Plus, trying to get something yourself would be a great way to spark such events. I look forward to seeing how things go.
