I remember being on the bus several years ago, headphones on, just trying to psych myself up for another day of work. A teenager got on, also wearing headphones, got on and walked down the aisle. Before sitting, she took her headphones down, and got my attention. I took mine down and she said something like, "I like your hair." I thanked her and then we both put our headphones back on. I had recently dyed it blue, which was not super popular where I lived at the time (and it's waaay less popular of a thing to do now that I'm in NC).
