Well the weekend begins with kind of a whimper but that's alright, my son is back and it's going to be a fun weekend. Guitar lessons and hockey tomorrow, Super Bowl party (maybe) on Sunday. Going to visit the ex's family I hope one of those two days with Hunter, he misses them not my ex, but them. I never did get to see them about advise but I hope to get that tomorrow or Sunday, whichever day I visit.
I got some possibly distressing news, Mom needs surgery. Possibly cancer, they won't know until they remove the thyroid, and run some tests on it. Universal health care in Canada has it's advantages, however several nodules on her parathyroid are going to be left and monitored rather than removed due to the fact that part of a thyroid will help her regulate her calcium levels and everything else even though there is a chance that it could still be carcenogenic.
Now my training and education tell me that this is a low risk solution but lets be honest, when it comes to family it is difficult to stay rational. Since my mother is my last living parent perhaps that is why. My father gave me power of attorney because even though my mother who was a nurse for over 35 years when she retired couldn't think straight when it came to decisions about him.
Well the surgery isn't until late March early April, so lots of time to get my rational mind back in the forefront. In the meantime back to Clash of Kings.
