Today has been much better than yesterday. Perhaps it was the fact that I slept in, that I haven't heard from my ex in two days, or the fact that in thirty minutes it is time for the oldest rivalry in sports. Toronto Maple Leafs (my team) versus the Montreal Canadians?
The reasons don't really matter. Not today, today has been about 3 things, music, literature, and sports. Music, because I took my son to his guitar lessons, he was learning some Green Day, and Rush. It was nice to hear him playing the music of my youth. It strikes me that even now that he is twelve he still listens to much of the same music as I do. While I do find it nice I do want him to develop his own musical tastes and I suppose Rush can transend generational divides.
Literature because I got some new books, this one for my son,
Now he just has to finish books, two and three. But it was a good price, and he was learning Rush, I felt he deserved something. While I don't have a picture of it I also picked up some Scott Pilgrem graphic novels for him too. Also picked these up for myself,
I know I know I'm a little behind everyone else but I've had a few other things on my plate to dice into something this epic.
Sports, well I mentioned it earlier Leafs vs. Habs. There are few better ways to spend a Saturday night in Niagara Falls (Please note that I did say few not no better).
Hey if anyone has some first date advise I'd appreciate it, I've been out of the game for 11 years, well nearly 12 so please if anyone has any advise on how to approach a single mother with a 10 year old girl, that has child care issues and doesn't get out much as a result PLEASE SHARE!!!! I'm a little terrified.
