Another week down and all is well. Still struggling to communicate with my Turkish student. Wish I had a babblefish. There really isn't a whole lot else going on.

I've been on another big socialist history kick. I'm fascinated by Castro and how he has been vilified by the US, but has done so much less wrong than some of the leaders that we put in power. Does the name Pinochet ring any bells for anyone? We won't trade with Cuba and have made it difficult for them to trade with anyone, yet we continue to buy poisoned toys from China. I think I may go get a dog just so I can name him Fidel. Ok, I wouldn't really do that but I do want a dog.

I'm also starting a Spanish class soon. I decided that I would do an evening class at a local high school. It's pretty cheap and not too invasive. But it may motivate me to get into the language study. I have a good friend from Mexico City who may give us the chance to go down with her next summer, but I want to have some base in the language before we go. I'm also just excited to be learning something new just for me.

Anyone willing to give me help with either Spanish or Turkish language?
