Maybe I'll learn to play a new song today. I'm feeling a pull towards the classic blues of the delta.
There has been so much tying of loose ends lately that I don't know what to write about. I feel like there is so much going on that I just am not sure where to begin. Or if I should bother to begin at all.
Why is our society so caught up in this rushing around and getting more done? I guess in some ways I am a socialist at heart as I think the whole capitalist thing is a little damage to individual well being. It creates this psychological need to be dissatisfied. Whatever it is, it isn't enough because success means having more. But I'm probably just talking out of my ass because I'm feeling the pressure to take on a second job so that my wife can get finish her grad school program. I don't mind the sacrifice to support her, but at the same time, I don't like the societal perspectives on who makes what. As a teacher (mind you, it is easy to be a bad teacher), I work around 70 hours a week in order to do make a difference for the students that I work with, but there is still the need for a second job, just to be able to make ends meet while trying to make the world a better place.
If any one is reading this, sorry for venting. It just needs to be done sometimes.
