Bar Tending 101? If anyone has any good info on how to start working as a bartender, I'd love to hear about it.
I'm starting to think more seriously about picking up an extra job for the summer months while we have more daylight. I looked into going to one of those bar tending schools and trying to find a way to break in there without much experience, but when I asked a few of the folks at a local haunt, they told me not waste my money. They said that it was good for learning drink recipes but that it wouldn't actually help to get a job.
I'm also thinking about trying to work with a friend of mine who does some construction and contracting work. Also could be good, but I don't think it would pay quite as well. But it would allow me to have my nights a little more free.
Anyone have other ideas of good summer jobs?

Thanks for your comment, I really apreciate it!
It's interesting though because that's exactly what I'm talking about, her being jealous. I guess I hope it's possible because it would be such an unselfish kind of love. Also, with divorce rates so high in some places now a days, isn't there always the fear that someone will find another and leave one behind? I totally get what you are saying though, and understand why you believe it's not possible. I pretty much think it isn't as well.
I have two friends right now, one is bar-tending for the summer, and went to the school. That seemed cool because the school kind of like placed her, or put a good word in for her and she got a job right out of it, but other bartenders I've talked to said it's useless so I don't know.
The other does construction and absolutely loves it, a good work out/tan/fun job he says. If I was a guy I'd totally do that.
