Yesterday was the big Rebuilding Together program. Pretty good turnout. There were 24 houses that had work done and a really big crew at each place. I was a little disappointed this year. The home-owner and two of her kids were there and they were so great, but because of the amount of stuff and the severity of the stuff that needed to get done,...

Thanks for your two cents, I really appreciate it. I'm not making judgments but I have it on what I think is good authority that he is not only a pot head but a tweaker, which maybe has something to say for his behavior? Who knows, but I think the main thing is I need to face it that not everyone is going to like me in the work place....and that's a given, but I guess I just wish that even if he had a problem with me that he'd show me the respect I think I deserve.

Three gratitudes of the day:
1) Bi Bim Bap for dinner
2) A professional reason to make a mix cd: another teacher needs a blues collection for a class she is teaching.
3) Keri was flattered and touched by my use of her positive focus and her list of gratitudes.
caia:
That's just great!!! smile

It's only Tuesday and I'm already sleep deprived ad behind at work. How will I make it to Friday?

But on another note, I've been thinking a lot lately about the blogs that I've been reading on here lately and there seems to be a common them in many of them. People who are not only wrapped up in negativity, but also people who are...

Finally some sunshine and warmth. My leaky jeep is drying out. My house is airing out with all the windows open for the first time since we moved in. The squirrels are playing in the yard. I finally was able to fix my printer so that it works again. I had a killer massage yesterday. All in all, it is a good day.

Now I...

So I've been busy with water the last few days. It sort of makes me laugh a bit. With all of the rain that we had in New England over the last week, there are people with flooded basements and property damage, there have been, and still are, roads closed all over the place, talk of bridges washing out, etc. But none of that has...

The world is flooding... a lot of the roads around here are closed down. I feel bad for the people are affected by this but I'm lucky enough to just have it be a greater excuse to write lengthy responses to some the interesting journals that folks are posting this week.

And I'm still undecided on the summer job.

Thanks for such a nice compliment and for always reading my blogs. It means a lot. You seem like an amazing person as well so we can't give up the good fight. As unfortunate as this tragedy is...I am hoping some good will come out of it. It just really depresses me when things like this happen. Life is so fragile and so many people disrespect the precious gift that we do get...life. Keep your head up.I know I'm trying to. kiss

really? i didnt know that.. see how stupid i am when it comes to world news?

Bar Tending 101? If anyone has any good info on how to start working as a bartender, I'd love to hear about it.

I'm starting to think more seriously about picking up an extra job for the summer months while we have more daylight. I looked into going to one of those bar tending schools and trying to find a way to break in there...

Thanks for your story and input. I'm glad to know that at least that kind of non-romantic friendship can exist. smile
It's interesting though because that's exactly what I'm talking about, her being jealous. I guess I hope it's possible because it would be such an unselfish kind of love. Also, with divorce rates so high in some places now a days, isn't there always the fear that someone will find another and leave one behind? I totally get what you are saying though, and understand why you believe it's not possible. I pretty much think it isn't as well. smile
I have two friends right now, one is bar-tending for the summer, and went to the school. That seemed cool because the school kind of like placed her, or put a good word in for her and she got a job right out of it, but other bartenders I've talked to said it's useless so I don't know.
The other does construction and absolutely loves it, a good work out/tan/fun job he says. If I was a guy I'd totally do that. biggrin

I guess the answer to the three day weekend where I did no work is the 14 hour day on Monday. And I was only scheduled to be in more than one place at the same time for 30 minutes of that time. But it sucks that I'll be back in again at 6:30 tomorrow for probably another 14 hour day. But at least things...

How is it that even on a three day weekend I am not able to get any work done. So much to do and so little motivation. I've got many other things I'd rather be doing than figuring up grades and typing in scores. Especially since it's Easter and sunny. Even if it is a bit chilly.

I'm feeling a bit better today. Still congested, but feeling better. Thanks to all of you well wishers who left me messages the other day. I'm now hooked on Milk and Honey thanks to Caia. It also helps that the sun is out today. I love the rain when I feel well. I miss the immediate change and variety in the weather from the...

I actually like the sight of snow in April. But I hate being sick. My head is a solid block. There isn't enough room in there for breath. But at least I don't have to go to work tomorrow.

Does anyone have a good cold remedy that will help me to kick this?

Saturdays are always such a strange mix of feeling off balance and exhausted from the week and feeling energized and motivated from the nights sleep. But once I turn to any of the projects I have planned, I start to get tired and want to sit. But when I sit, I get anxious and want the projects to get done. Maybe I need more sleep....
