Ok I finally decided to just post a challenge to the artists group and the photoshop group to find help making these animated banners and teasers. Hopefully it works cause this is thus far an insane work load for me alone. Hopefully I can sucker a few people into helping out a bit.

For hair, I just fill it with a flat colour, then select a darker colour and draw in the shadows, once thats done I use a different fade-outy brush for those highlights.. thats pretty much it depending on how determined i get! tongue

As for Layers.. I try to keep it to a minimum, in the end I think it was somewhere between 15 -20 layers.. But most of those are for effects like glows and background elements.. For straight character work, it should only be around 4 - 5.. and at the very least, Line art / colour/ background..
