know. thats why i couldnt even bring myself to tell you. i felt so silly. but this guy is so amazing. we sat on the beach this morning, him playing guitar, me writing. it was like from the first conversation something just clicked with us. i needed an artistic presence in my life. he understands my insane compulsion to write all too well. and i needed to do something irrational, something nonsensical, something that just felt right even if i couldnt intellectualize it. and this feels so right.
we really do need to hang out. whats your schedule like before school starts again monday? and i would love to hang with you and zephyra. let me know whats going on with you. its been what a month now? im having some serious say withdrawals.

& i've got to thank you. for convincing me to get a public profile and for the conversation where you made me realize it wasnt that weird to meet people online. i tend to be close minded when it comes to things like that.

eh, it was more like the Full Metal Jacket type. i have nightmares at night, 11 years later, after seeing that movie.

your comment got me to thinking about boot camp, 18 years old and what i was then. compared it to now. not a very pretty picture.

Yesterday was Maurauders wild kingdom.

Whilst enjoying my morning nicotine and coffee in the backard, I noticed my dogs acting funny in a corner of the garden. Upon investigation I found them 'playing' with a poor half dead gopher they had exhumed from the soil. It was beyond saving, and the Boy had to finish it off with a shovel. frown Say a prayer.

I got...

My triumphant return!

I love the road! Bleary eyed and coffee shocked, speeding into endless adventures, the road is calming and electric at once. Like meditating on speed. You never know where it will lead.

And I love America. Good god, I love America! Anyone who says this country has no culture needs to put down the crack pipe and hit that glorious road. Melting...

I'll leave you with this, an eerie nursery rhyme I wrote damn near a decade ago.

But you were there to sing my song

You sang the words so pure...

Summer is grand. Yesterday I went to 'work', which consisted of me and the head of the biology department going out for a sushi lunch. We got shitfaced on hot saki and ended up hanging out in the parking lot smoking cigarettes and talking about cars and making fun of yuppies. Who says scientists are boring?

Last night I watched Big Fish, and I'm a...

I didn't really like Big Fish as much as I thought I should have. did that make sense? confused Maybe I should watch it again.
And I never said scientists are boring...I think they are the coolest people on the planet. love
I might be out your way at the end of June...I'll let you know as soon as I do. And the invite is still there for you to join us if you'd want to.

I'm not so good at updating my journal. I'm also not so good at responding to people, which I feel really bad about. I have this problem in real life, too. I'm phonophobic.

Anyway, now that school is over I will have more time, so I'm asking that you forgive me for my past aloofity (yes I know it's not a word, but my GOD...

I'M FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Done, Finis, Finito, Zero Zip Nada!

I'm going to get incredibly drunk now, so if you see me sumbling around the boards later on tonight, please forgive for what I might say. Oh, and if you see me in CE, please point me in another direction (if I'm still standing). wink

Congratulations!

Hope CE didn't eviscerate you. I avoid that place like the plague. I get too quickly driven into a murderous frenzy.

Sometimes I'm uncomfortable with this medium. I can assure you, the pixilated 'me' that stares up at you from your screen, coy and glib, flirtatious and eloquent, that is not an accurate represtentation. The real me is shy. I am clumsy and trip a lot. I blush a lot as well. The real me is not gifted with a back space bar, cannot punctuate my...

Here's a solid guide to writing poetry:

Barbara Drake's book is as light as it is instructional, and is a joy to read. It's pricey, but well worth it. You should be able to pick it up cheaper at a used book store.
