I'm not so good at updating my journal. I'm also not so good at responding to people, which I feel really bad about. I have this problem in real life, too. I'm phonophobic.

Anyway, now that school is over I will have more time, so I'm asking that you forgive me for my past aloofity (yes I know it's not a word, but my GOD...

I'M FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Done, Finis, Finito, Zero Zip Nada!

I'm going to get incredibly drunk now, so if you see me sumbling around the boards later on tonight, please forgive for what I might say. Oh, and if you see me in CE, please point me in another direction (if I'm still standing). wink

I, too, am free! Hurray! biggrin

Congratulations!

Hope CE didn't eviscerate you. I avoid that place like the plague. I get too quickly driven into a murderous frenzy.

Sometimes I'm uncomfortable with this medium. I can assure you, the pixilated 'me' that stares up at you from your screen, coy and glib, flirtatious and eloquent, that is not an accurate represtentation. The real me is shy. I am clumsy and trip a lot. I blush a lot as well. The real me is not gifted with a back space bar, cannot punctuate my...

Take it and run with it.
Here's a solid guide to writing poetry:

Barbara Drake's book is as light as it is instructional, and is a joy to read. It's pricey, but well worth it. You should be able to pick it up cheaper at a used book store.

I'd like to be your pixelated friend.

I went to the beach yesterday and it was so amazingly beautiful. It was dusk and the fog was so thick you couldn't see your fand stretched out in front of you. The same gale that granted us the fogbank was also responsible for the untimely demise of an entire smack (did you know a group of jellyfish is called a 'smack'? Nither did I,...

Well, last night was certainly...sureal. I went over to Fractal's house with the boy and the dogs, which is always a pleasure but not that alarming. So she was like, "Oh, my friends S--- and Olivia are visiting from out of town. Oh wait, you know them from the site!" And then who was to knock at the door, but Olivia and s5....

Alright, well! All the questions were great, I'm answering them slowly so please be patient! I didn't forget about you. smile

Hmmm...I feel so amazing right now. I just got back from the most incredible hike. I dont get out in nature enough, it feels so good. But my dogs were virtually swimming in poison oak so we'll see how I feel tomorrow.

Oh! And I...

Hey thanks for the advice I actually think you are right. I need to let go and if she comes back, she comes back if not, well I had 7 years with her as my best friend and the joy of those memories far outweigh the more recent pain I have suffered. thanks again always helps to have someone listen and give their opinion.

a. Yes delusion is teh super hottness, and intimidatingly smart as well. I get all shy around her, I'm starting to think she thinks I dont like her. But why do you keep asking me this? Are you composing some mental fantasy!?! Dont deny it! We all are...

*fainting, dying...composing self*
...i don't think that. i'm kind of an awkward self concious thing around girls, i think. most girls, especially here since i am in a new place with no friends, are so clique-y and snobbish and...different from me. i get intimidated easily. then there are beautiful, smart, intelligent, unique girls that just render me completely useless, speechless. so either way my social skills are just perniciously lacking.
& by the way, yes we all definitely are... kiss

I found this in my email this morning -

"S------,

I might not be the first to offer congratulations, but CONGRATULATIONS.

You have been selected "Profant Scholar for 2003-04". Your enthusiasm for biology, your love of (interest in?) parasites (Robert Profant's area of interst), your work with the Museum (where Robert Profant was on their Advisory Committee), and your enthusiasm for our department and its...

Hell ya I'm a Forensic Scientist. I'm a Forensic DNA Analyst. That means I don't have to look at dead bodies (see, it's not all too icky), I just get the packaged crime scene evidence from the police and I process it for DNA. I guess that's the advantage of working for a private company that contracts with police departments rather than working for the actual police myself (otherwise, I'd know what all kinds of dead bodies smell like...ewwww). I have a Biology degree. What other fields are you considering? I might go back to school for a master's degree, but if I do, I'll probably switch to Environmental Sciences. Tell me more! Tell me more bio nerd (sweet, another one of us...I have a periodic table hanging in my room...shhhhh....).

I'm headed to bed, so good night. kiss If you're in Belize, then somehow I doubt it's your bedtime.

i dont know why but for some reason i was entirely too excited that you liked my scrawlings... biggrin i think that any time i tell someone that i am "a writer" before they ever read my work there is some level of apprehension at ever having them read it for fear that they will think "writer hmm..more like sadly mistaken self important hack with no business wrapping her fingers around a pen". tongue
alas, i finally got the boy an account of his own so he could understand that i am only being pervy sometimes & that there is really is so much else on the site. alas is a great word. backwards it says sala. that means living room in spanish. but you knew that...erm...being from belize and all. anyway, theres nothing like leaving a neatly bundled clusterfuck of 4am ramblings for one of the most indimidatingly hot & intelligent people i know...damn im smooth... blush
see you tomorrow biggrin

Well, Ive actually had a pretty interesting week for once.

On Wednesday night I had the honor of seeing the inspirational Jane Goodall speak. She is so amazing, and so wise. She gave a synopsis of her lifes work (groundbreaking primate research plus one of the first accepted female field researchers), but she mostly spoke on current issues. Apparently her love of chimps has led...
