he is ill and schyzophrenic. He didn't know what he was doing at the moment of the murders.

Referring to what you said, you won't find my political views by viewing my page. But as I slowly read through your profile I notice the views we share. I get off on reading books like "Positively Black" and such, I despise racism and am one of the few people in America that realizes 99% of our white race is ethnocentric. Which makes me feel sick in my own skin. I'm ashamed to live in a society where ignorance is bliss. Anyway. I shouldn't ramble. Talk to you later. -Yvonne

Mathilde, I read your post about Sheila Jeffreys. Unfortunately, her views were fairly common among second-wave feminists--feminists from the 60s and 70s. Fortunately, in the U.S. these views are much less common among later feminists--those from the 80s and 90s.

In my experience, though, European feminists are much more likely to hold anti-sex views like Jeffreys, even if they're under 40. Have you found this to be true?

Holly Golightly is indeed amazing. She used to be with a group called the Headcoatees--have you heard them?

I'm quite angry today.

Here is an article you can read in french and in english

en francais

in english

I can explain for those who won't understand what queer theory is.

I fell really angry to read some sentences about tatoos. And I really dislike the outing of Foucault as a sado masochist man.

Maybe you will say it is just a dumb article....

i wish i spoke french like jimmy joe snark up there. frown

i haven't read "confederacy of dunces" but i've heard of it.

that article = yuck. what really pissed me off was that they put transexuals, sadomasochists, and pedophiles in the same group. what people consent to in the bedroom, or how they modify their bodies, has nothing to do with feminism or queer oppression.

your diary is awesome. it always makes me think. love

Let's speak about gay marriage.

In facts, politically, I'm of course for gay marriages because they need to have the same rights of straight people.

In a theorical and philosophical way of thinking, I'm totally against gay marriage. Don't become angry I have to explain first.

Marriage is an oppression ; don't think about individual people but think about a political way of life.

snottlebocket:
"penetration is rape" how does that make any sense, what is this book about?
snottlebocket:
she sounds kinda rediculous, i mean if you start with the point of view that men want to dominate women in every way how are you ever going to have a healthy relationship or even society.

she's the scary manhating hairy bitch stereotype i always had with feminists.
Maybe it's just because i'm fromt this generation but what do feminists want or do anyway?
i allready consider women equal in practically every way so they always kinda sound like something that belongs in the past.

i'm not a photographer btw, those snake and frog pics was only the second time i ever used a camera.

I was reading a thread where a boy says he is uncomfortable because a friend of him used to use "gay" in a pejorative way.
It remembers a story which happened one month ago.
I was debatting by emails with some feminists about sex work. On of them told me "you must be a sex worker with a pimp to talk like that".
It was...

I like your response to being called a slut. Even though they might think they've insulted you, later they might realize you weren't insulted smile

And I'm sorry Inga wouldn't respond to you. I'm sure she appreciates your interest, and I don't think it would be hard for you to read in Enlgish. Maybe if you pester her to from the get-go, she can try to get her new book published in French smile

I will tell her about you if I get to speak with her in the Fall.

Hope you feel better, don't let random losers get you down.

Merci pour votre commentaire dans ma journal. Je pense que votre anglais est mieux que mon francais, donc peut-etre il serait mieux si je continue en anglais. smile

Your notion about whether the 9/11 suicide bombers considered their victims to be innocent is fascinating. So much so, actually, that I think I will try to incorporate some of that attitude into my story. That's the mentality that I think so few of us can understand, and why people were so disturbed about the terrorist events in New York, Bali and Madrid. To the terrorists, we are all enemies - they don't recognize innocent bystanders, you are either for them or against them. A very similar attitude as George W. Bush, actually. smile

I haven't read Hannah Harendt's books but I'd like to. Iris Chang's book was much the same way. The Japanese soldiers who committed the massacre at Nanking thought they were just doing their work. They also didn't consider the chinese to be anything more than dogs, mostly because they were encouraged to think that way by their superiors. It made their jobs easier.
