We've got to respect our elders. I'm thinking back now to the most painful realization of this I ever had....
Once upon a time there were five crab fishermen, all "highliners" in Alaska, best of the best, could get a job on any boat, or captain their own vessel outright. But they were undefeatable together, with their various specialties. I was one of them, making...

hello there! how are you?

i think the newer ipods have better battery life. mine is a 3rd generation & i think they are already up to a 6th generation. if you do buy one, definately buy an extended warraty!

amazing story and ain't it the truth sometimes the tuth lies in the simplest place. i mean seriously for all the millios and expert you can pull in there is usually a simple answer to be found if we're only willing to listen. fortunately i have learned that lesson on less expensive adventures but you got to admit the adventure was worth the experince and taught you things and gave you experiences you would have never had. thanks for sharing that.it is very hummbling to read.

also i could just picture you with a wooden leg eye patch and a corncob pipe as you layed out the story to a bunch of wet behind the ear fisherman. you truly are amazing. the more i learn the more i realize what an interstesting friend i have found in you.

"There is nothing- absolutely nothing- half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats." -Kenneth Grahame, from The Wind In The Willows

Thanks for the concern, I'm really touched. Frankly I've been drinking and not rereading my posts. I was angling on the short life thing because I feel I just have so much to accomplish; and the "s" adjective is a bit...

and yes, i wear glasses... I don't see well without them.

and lay your past to rest. You can't change it ya know. (that was spoken with the ignorance of one who has no idea... but we all battle with who we were an what we did, regardless of the situation. Even me.)

What is it in the air that's causing people to do the serious double takes on their lives right now? I've been wandering around for the last week or so under that same little cloud. In some ways, I've never been happier and in other ways I've never been more miserable. Why can't the universe just get it right?!?!?

I envy your ability to re-invent yourself.

And I'm glad to see you're all in one piece!

A long life may not be good enough, but a good life is long enough. Or I am still hoping. So lonely and reminiscent now. Even though the frisbee floated a good 60-80 yards after my spiritual windup. Me and the dog could be an olympic event. For alchoholic loser AWOL bums....
So today I am still horribly horny; depressed, and suicidal.
NO happy go...

that book came out in 1996 and i stilll have my hardback copy of it. i will never let it go.

best to you brother!
dmac:
Hey! Do NOT use words like "suicidal" in your journal and then disappear for days! You scare me! frown You okay?

I'm an asshole; I know this. But, like many things in life, it's an acquired taste. I've been posting lately about being nice and positive and happy. Down inside, I'm a tortured mess. I made the wrong turn at Albuquerque, as Bugs Bunny would say. And yeah, I was about thirteen outside Sandia Labs there now that I think about it. Juvenile delinquent.
So being...

i would love to do some cycling with you. i think i am going to have to switch to a long board this summer my board i have been riding was a 6' 11" with a thruster tail setup i loved it but it wants to sink on me too fast before i can pop up and i am going to have to relearn that since it's been awhile, but hell it i take care of that we can it it all!

I should maybe change my look. The black leather biker jacket and black skullcap just make me look like the guy your mother always warned you about. I don't know a whole lot about fashion. I know that one item men wear that seems to empower them only makes me feel vulnerable. A tie. Just feel like it's this huge target (all that self defense...

Hey - thanks for the nice notes about my vacation - you actually lived in South Beach? What a freaked out place. The Carribean rocked and I wish I could've stayed.

Don't let this woman get you down.

I know what you mean about worrying about what you are looking like. Looking at the other pictures you have, why not get rid of the goatee? Your smooth skin might make you a bit more approachable? Just an idea.

Happy Valentine's Day. smile

So today I think of art and science. Stradivarius only selected the most perfect specimens of spruce, that had tumbled down certain mountain streams, for their mineral content. That tonal quality is still treasured two centuries later. He had a very scientific mind....
On the other hand, I came up to Luke today, sanding away blindfolded. He was using more power sanders than his hands,...

Wow that is all i have to say is wow. That is incredible that you have the ability to do all of that. It always amazes me people who can tell the species, age quality, grain, carve by hand and simply do what you just described. I am always floored and somewhat envious, but we all have our gifts and abiities that we are strongest at. I am quite happy that for the most part I can tell you what species of tree i am looking at from its leaf and bark, but to take that to a block or sheet of wood and that to me is where the majic begins. I can tell the hardwoods from say pine and such, but after that I am incredibly hopeless.

Thanks for sharing such an amazing story and piece of history that I was not aware of!

It's been said that anything worth doing is worth doing right. Apparently young Luke feels the same way. By the way, he was the one responsible for the explosion last week. So, a week later, having been relegated to cleanup duty, I'm surprised he is still so vigorous instead of moping about, much less not having quit yet, to work at a mall or something....

do you mean you feed your dog people food? if so, be careful with that - all sorts of foods are toxic to dogs (chocolate, grapes, raisins, onions, farmed salmon, and these in large quanties are toxic: garlic, tomatoes, apples, apricots, cherries, broccoli... to name the common ones). skull

I suppose the downside to having sex for three days straight, about twelve times a day, is not being able to top that again on the honeymoon. A high point being some random smooth jazz that came up, with that groovin' base line so tight I had to screw to the beat. It was like acrobatic porno music, and she started laughing so hard, and...

When it rains, it pours. In the midst of wringing my mind programming today, during bouts where I wanted to scream and throw things, that little itch came up. I should be checking up on everyone. But I just HAD to get this right, even though I could have made the part by hand already, all these intersecting ellipses were the forte of robotics.

Yes indeed. A day to forget. Or remember if so inclined.
Most every workplace in the south has a fellow called "Bubba." He's a jovial, innocent dude who never really gaduated highschool. So Bubba this morning is inquiring about my Saturday night. I told him no big deal, got some chick's number, probably won't call. "She got any friends?" "Dude, this chick was BORN with...

Sounds like Bubba's got dunlop's disease (as in his belly done lop over his pants!) Okay, bad joke, but it's all I could muster with so few brain cells firing right now. blackeyed

Thanks for your note in my journal! It really was a beautiful day today....well, between raindrops, that is. smile

There was a fishing tournament here today and folks from all over, who are on the national striper circuit were all over MY lake. Well, normally it feels like mine because almost no one around here goes out in the winter. Lake Norman has over 575 miles of coastline I am VERY familiar with. I had to turn my VHF off because I lost interest...

well thankyou. The thing about having "adversary" written in arabic is that only certain people will be able to read it and understand it. They will then know who I am to them. Adversary means the devil, or satan. pronounced shaytaan in arabic. So if you can read it, it's meant for you, and if you can read it and are offended by it, then there is an s&w .45 1911 that wants to meet your jihadist ass. Do you see where I am going with this? wink
christi:
Ha! no i was at work listening to it.
