I know! I'm due for an update! I've just been kinda busy at work and I'm planning a "not-so-surprise" welcome home party for my husband. It's not such a surprise anymore because he's being inspector gadget. 
I need to ask my boss for a raise but that is so not me! I mean, how do you go about asking for a raise? I'd be so uncomfortable! I've always just got a yearly review and a raise but this year I was overlooked. (at least I think!) Any suggestions?

Maybe you're at a point in your pay scale where you don't get a yearly increase.
At least you tried to make a surprise of the welcome home party- I'm sure you'll have a good time anyway.
